UAV Avionics Technician


Blue Bear Systems seeks an enthusiastic, detail-oriented, trustworthy and reliable avionics/electronics/wiring technician keen to work as part of a small, close-knit team in a fast-paced and innovative technical environment.
 
Main activities:
The role will involve application of your technical knowledge and skills to perform such tasks as replacing components, wiring circuits, circuit prototyping assistance, repairing simple electronic equipment, UAV looming and taking test readings using test equipment such as digital multi-meters, logic analysers, and oscilloscopes.   You would also be responsible for goods in inspection and testing of electronic circuit boards, constantly checking quality to ensure accuracy of product and performing basic maintenance/carry out periodic tests to detect/eliminate bugs. 
 
This position is ideally suited to a patient, unflustered and methodical individual who enjoys hand crafting and has a care for quality.
 
The above is not an exhaustive list of duties. You will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your evolving role within the company and the overall business objectives of the company.
 
Essential skills:
 Ability to use drawings, prints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to locate defective components and perform repairs.
Experience of following test procedures & recording results to a high standard.
PCB assembly experience.
Collaborative working with team members and suppliers as required.
Able to liaise with suppliers and order materials & components following company procedures and approval routes.
Understands and follows standard and specified safety procedures and operating procedures.
Ability to use a variety of precision measurement standards and instruments.
Work with published technical directives and equipment specifications which outline specific alignment and calibration procedures
Ability to attach moving parts and subassemblies to basic assembly units, using hand tools and power tools as instructed and other duties as assigned by Supervisor. 

Desirable background & skills:
Apprentice trained.
Relevant qualifications in an engineering discipline.
Ideally, 5 years’ direct industry experience.
PCB schematic & layout experience using a CAD package such as ORCAD or CADSOFT EAGLE.
Knowledge and experience in military terminology. 

Clearance: 
Due to the nature of the role the successful candidate will required to be security vetted to a minimum SC level.
