Sponsorships are paid in 3 equal instalments per academic year. During the sponsorship period, students are expected to work for the company for approximately 4 weeks during each of their summer vacations and they will be mentored by a team member during this time.
Blue Bear also offers work placements of up to 1 year in length which are made available to outstanding students. For more information on Sponsorship and/or Work Placements please send your CV with a covering note explaining what you will bring to the Blue Bear Team to [email protected]
We are also able to offer work experience placements to a limited number of outstanding students, for example:
Stephen Kingham, a second year Aerospace Engineering student at the University of Hertfordshire
, completed a two month work placement during the summer of 2015. He said:"I spent eight weeks at Blue Bear working on a wide range of projects from the concept and designing of parts for new UAVs, to programming sensors, to capture of trials data. These tasks allowed me to learn to use new CAD modelling sofware and how to program in different languages. I was also heavily involved in the flight testing of a mixture of rotary and fixed-wing aircraft.
"Highlights included the first flight of a new model of Blackstart and a series of trials involving a hexacopter - very challenging flying conditions and me shouting a lot! It was very rewarding to see my work being put to use on these flights and I will use the experience gained here in the rest of my course at university.
"The staff at Blue Bear were knowledgeable, helpful and a pleasure to work with. I would love to come back in the future and would highly reccommend the company to anyone looking for an interesting placement in the aerospace industry."
